This is our warmest tight, for tough guys who don’t let a little cold keep them indoors. Our warmest GORE-TEX INFINIUM™ WINDSTOPPER fabric covers the entire front of the tight to keep the cold wind out. We use water-repellent Nano Flex 3G on the bum and the back of the lower legs for splash protection from wet roads, while Thermoflex on the back of the thighs gives extra stretch for the renowned Castelli fit. This is now the most comfortable wind tight we've ever made. We’ve kept the bib straps to a minimum so that you can layer your upper body exactly as you wish, without an unwanted thermal layer covering your stomach. Just the name gives an idea of the process of constant improvement, which started with a soft KISS pad that was improved by making it more breathable (Air) and then improved again in the latest update to use the softest-ever top fabric (2). We've updated the fabric to the new Pro Dry Soft, which has a smooth matte finish that feels cool on the skin while being very supportive and quick to dry. We wanted this short to be just right for many years to come, so little details like the reflective patches are stitched in instead of being glued on, and the GIRO3 elastic has the grip woven right into the fabric. The name of this tight, Sorpasso, means "overtaking" in Italian. That's what we've tried to do with this tight, to make it a bit faster, better, more comfortable. It's made to be technical equipment for riding in the widest range of winter conditions. The main part of the tight uses our Nano Flex 3G fabric, the third generation of our nanotechnology fabric treatment that adds a high level of water repellency without affecting the breathability, stretch or warmth of the fabric. You get a highly stretchy, compressive fit that moves with you, focusing on warmth and comfort. But then we add a few panels of the Nano Flex Xtra Dry fabric to provide a bit more wind protection and warmth in the front panel and over the thighs, and in the back for extra protection from road spray. It's not only about the fabrics: anatomical patterning gives a bend at the knee and the hip, while the seamless bib straps lie flat and securely keep everything in place. Our generously padded Progetto X2 Air seamless seat pad makes long rides more comfortable, and you have multiple reflective panels to keep you visible.
